HSE Project and Qualifying Yemeni Employment

In November 2009, Sana’a Community College entertained HSE training and qualifying Project for the construction industry which was funded by Qatar Silatech Organization for Arab Youth, enterprises and employment.

Silatech Org., with cooperation of British EDEXCEL & PEARSON Organizations, sent the master trainers and assessment experts to train and qualify Yemeni youth to enable them to find job opportunities either in local market or abroad.

And this programme had been launched at the time which the college plays a great role in participation of training and qualification to increase the scientific and skillful level of Yemeni resources according to the requirements of local work market and the countries of Gulf Cooperation Council.

      This is an accredited course and on the successful completion of which trainees will be awarded an internationally recognized Silaqual certificate accredited by Silatech, Pearson and Edexcel Orgs. in association with Sana’a Community College of education in Health Safety and Environmental procedures for the construction industry.

By this cooperation, two programmes had been launched in the college such as:

  • The programme of preparing and qualifying Yemeni trainers (Train the trainers Programme). The programme started in November 2009 and ended in 7 June 2010. And already thirteen trainers were prepared, qualified and certified by British and international experts.


On the other hand, the college works now to ensure sustainability of the programme by creating and qualifying more trainers.

  • The programme of training Yemeni labors in HSE Course. The number enrolled in the program, according to the companies and individuals are 1024 trainees starting from 23 January, 2010 to 5 August 2010, they were trained in SCC by Yemeni trainers , distributed as follows: -

The course requires 40 hours of training. It starts weekly on Saturday at 8:00 am, and completes on Thursday at 15:30 pm.  Attendance on all of the course 11 modules is mandatory to gain the qualification.
